I love any opportunity to vinyl all the things and school supplies are no exception! The wonderful thing about being a crafty mom is that you can be frugal, but still make sure your kids have the coolest supplies around. Vinyl allows you to personalize anything and you don't have to pay the big bucks for the personalization.
I grabbed some colorful folders at Dollar Tree, a free cut file from Love SVG, created a monogram using the Monogram It app, then cut each design from some cheerfully colored vinyl, and voila! $1 folders are now personalized and sassy!
You can find a wonderful assortment of adhesive (and heat transfer) vinyl on Craftey's website! The color selection is top notch.
You can find the free SVG for the quote that I used here.
You can find the app that I use for monograms here.
Now, let's not forget about the incredible men and women that make education possible: teachers! I love having the ability to create meaningful and useful gifts for my kids' teachers using vinyl. I created a free cut file that you can use to gift the teachers in your life. Personally, I don't think you can have too many tote bags, so I used the file for a tote! But, you can put the file on a bag, a mug, a shirt; the possibilities are endless.
You can download the free cut file here. Once you've downloaded it, open the cut file in Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design space depending on which cutter you use. Make sure that you mirror the design if you are using heat transfer vinyl!
When you send the file to cut, make sure to select the correct material.
I used the sky blue in the Color Chimp Luxe HTV and oh my! It weeds so easily and the color is gorg! I also love that it is so easy to iron on to the bag since I don't use a heat press.
I hope that you have fun prepping for back to school and if you create any teachers gifts with the free cut file, I would certainly love to see!
