Hey there!! It’s Megan from Lovebird Heartworks and I’ve got a snappy little craft for you today!! I’m so excited to share this design and project with you, let’s get started!!
Materials used:
- Color Chimp HTV - White
- Craftey Weeding Tool
- Oh, Snap! SVG Cut File (download it here)
- Cricut Maker (or other die-cutting machine)
- Cutting Mat
- Cricut EasyPress (or other heating element)
- Cricut EasyPress Mat
- T-shirt (or other item you’d love to decorate)
Step 1: Download the Oh, Snap! SVG. Upload into Design Space or Cutting Software.
Download the free Oh, Snap! SVG cut file. Make sure to resize your project.
Step 2: Cut then Weed your Heat Transfer Vinyl.
Always remember to put your HTV on the mat shiny side down and don’t forget to MIRROR your design.
Step 3: Preheat your Garment.
Oh, Snap! I don’t want to forget to tell you, when you apply heat to some highly pigmented fabric the colors will get darker, give it a few minutes and the color will return to normal after the fabric cools down. You’ll see the dark square in the following photos and notice in the final picture the shirt has had a chance to cool so the colors have returned to normal.
Step 4: Heat Pressing the Design.
For the Color Chimp HTV I heat pressed at 320º for 15 seconds. Be sure to consult the Heat Press Settings for your particular HTV and fabric combination. Once you’ve heat pressed your design peel back the Carrier sheet.
That’s it!! A super cute tee in a SNAP!! I loved making this design and project for you!! I know that I’ll be making several more of these for the kiddos and I might even make some kitchen towels and oven mitts with this same design. SO many possibilities!!
I’d love to see what you create!! Feel free to tag me, @lovebird_heartworks, and Craftey, @getcraftey, in your creations on Instagram!! I hope you have a wonderfully festive season!!
