I was strolling in Michael's (as usual) and saw the prettiest red t-shirts. When I saw it, I envisioned some beautiful glittery Color Chimp HTV on it. Since it's freezing and snowing, I decided to make this about the winter weather some of us are enduring. I'm not sure about you but during the winter months, I am constantly cold. So why not make a t-shirt to tell everyone how I feel! Grab the free SVG cut file here and let’s start his simple tutorial!
SUPPLIES
- Blank T-shirt
- Color Chimp HTV
- I am Freaking Cold Free SVG Cut File (download it here)
- Cricut mat
- Cricut machine
- Weeding tools
- Iron or Easy Press
Step 1:
Upload the free SVG cut file to your Cricut Design Space. Size the cut file to fit on your shirt. My shirt is a small so I sized mine to 9.4in x 7in.
Step 2:
The most important part of this whole tutorial is to make sure you mirror the image! If you don't mirror, it will be backward.
Step 3:
Place the glitter htv onto the mat shiny side down! Turn your Cricut dial to iron-on and double-check on design space that you have 'mirror' on and cut!
Step 4:
Weed the lettering. Don't forget the middle of the letters like a, e, g, o, etc.
Step 5:
Lay the cut HTV on the shirt. I used a tape measure to make sure the lettering was centered.
Step 6:
Use your iron to press the HTV onto the shirt. I didn’t have any Teflon sheets (because I am busy buying all the vinyl 🤣) so I used a pillowcase to put between the HTV/tshirt and the iron. I pressed for about a minute, making sure I pressed all of the lettering.
Step 7:
Pull the plastic sheet off while it is still warm. If so some reason the HTV isn’t sticking on the shirt, replace the plastic sheet and press again.
You now have the perfect winter weather shirt with the perfect sparkle.
After you finish the project, don’t forget to post on social media using the hashtags #SimplyCraftey and #GetCraftey and post on Craftey’s Finished Projects so we can see what you made!
