The calendar might not say it yet, but it sure feels like winter is in full swing, at least in Utah where I live. We've had a couple of snow storms and it has been pretty cold! Having the weather be cold like this has made me want to start crafting up some winter decor. First thing on my list was this fun Hello Winter Pillow.

Hello Winter Pillow Supplies:
- Color Chimp Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl (Silver & Light Gold)
- Hello Winter Cut File
- Blank Pillow Cover
- Digital Die Cutting Machine
- Weeding Tool
- EasyPress, Heat Press, or Iron
- Light Box (optional)
This is such a fun design, and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to make a pillow cover with it. I uploaded the design into Cricut Design Space (but you could also use a Silhouette), sized the design, and sent it to be cut. I prepared to cut by placing my Color Chimp Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl, shiny side down on the mat.
When the machine prompted me, I inserted the mat and started cutting.
Once cut, I was ready to start weeding. Weeding Glitter HTV can be tricky at times. I like to use a light to show the lines, but it isn't necessary.
When I had all of the Glitter HTV weeded, I lined up the design to make sure it worked.
I placed my pillow cover on my heat press mat. I placed both pieces of Glitter HTV on the pillow cover and measured each side to make sure it was all where it needed to be.
When I had it in place, I removed the top layer and pressed the light gold layer. I pressed each section to make sure all of it was pressed and adhered to the pillow cover. Then I peeled up the carrier sheet. I kept the carrier sheet to use to cover the design once I started the second layer.
Once the light gold layer was on, and the carrier sheet was removed, I placed the silver layer lettering onto the pillow, placing it just where it needed to be with the light gold. Because all of the light gold design wasn't covered, I used the carrier sheet from the light gold to make sure it was all covered. I applied heat to all of the design and then peeled up the carrier sheet.
Doesn't it look so good? Glitter HTV is so fun to work with because it doesn't make a mess and the shine is just perfect!
