If you have kiddos at home you know that for such tiny people, they have SO. MUCH. STUFF. There are the diaper bags, the bottles, the wipe cases, the onesies, the list goes on. and on.
So what's a mama to do with all the stuff? We say personalize it! If it's going to take over your house, you might as well make it pretty! Today, we're showing you how to personalize a boring baby wipe case - and the best part is that you can follow these same steps to personalize all kinds of baby gear!
Let's get to work!
You’ll need:
- Baby Wipe Case (we picked up a plain wipe case from Target)
- Cutting machine (we used a Cricut Maker for this project)
- Permanent Adhesive Vinyl – we choose Oracal 651 in Pink
- Transfer Tape
- Weeding Tool
- Scraper
- Monogram SVG file (we made our's using the basice free Monogram It app)
Step 1: Design
Upload the SVG file to Design Space or Silhouette Studio and resize to fit your wipe case. We sized our file to 2.7” round.
Step 2: Cutting
Stick your vinyl to your mat (color side up) and press the GO button on your machine to begin cutting.
Step 3: Weeding
Once your design is done cutting, remove the vinyl from your mat and cut away the area with your design. Use your weeding tool to weed away the areas of the design that you don't need.
Step 4: Transfer your Design
Cut a piece of transfer tape to fit over the weeded design and run your scraper over it until it has fully adhered to the transfer tape.
Peel away the vinyl backing from your design so you are left with what you want to transfer on the transfer tape. Line up your design on your wipe case where ever you'd like it placed and smooth it down. Use your scraper tool to burnish over the design and remove any air bubbles.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Carefully peel away your transfer tape and you’re done! Now if you'll excuse us, we'll be spending the weekend adding vinyl to all the baby gear we can get our hands on.
If you try this DIY be sure to share a picture in the comments below, we’d love to see your projects! And if you have any projects you'd like us to try - let us know that too!
